Capture Mode: Switches between video capture and single frame image capture modes.

Camera/Capture Card: Capture device to be used for video display and recording.

Video Input Type: Defines the channel to use on multi-port capture cards, such as Composite, S-Video, and Tuner on most TV tuner cards.

TV Format: Sets the video standard to be used for display and recording. Both NTSC and PAL options are available.

Tuner Channel: If the video capture device is a TV tuner, this setting can be used to define the input channel for display and/or recording.

Color Format: Specifies the color format used by video cameras. RGB 24-bit is the default and most commonly used option. Twenty-nine other color options at various bit depths are available.

Video Size: Dimensions for video output and display (depending on the Scale Video Display setting).

Video Codec: Sets the AVI codec to be used for video recording. All compatible codecs installed on the system will be available as options. The most commonly used AVI codec at present is DivX.

Capture Location and Filename: Path and filename to which the recorded video will be saved.

Video Flipping: When enabled, the video displayed and captured will be flipped vertically. This is useful when video captures are upside-down.

Add Timestamp to Filename: When enabled, the output filename will be appended with the current
date and time.

Frame Rate: Frame rate to be used for video recordings. The value is defined in frames per second (FPS).

Capture Time Limit: When set to a non-zero value, recording will take place for the number of seconds, minutes, or frames defined. When the time limit has been reached, video capture will stop.

Capture Time Limit Unit: Provides units for the
time limit - seconds, minutes, and frames.

Audio Source: Sound card or other audio device to be used for input.

Audio Input Type: The audio device's channel to be used with multi-port sound cards.

Audio Format: Sets the bits per sample (BPS) and frequency used for audio output.T he frequency setting is shown in kHz.

Audio Capture: Allows the audio output to be set to stereo, mono, or off. When the setting is Do not Capture Audio, the output video will contain no audio content.

Audio Codec: AVI audio codec to be used for output. The current most commonly used audio codecs are MPEG Layer-3 and Windows Media Audio.

Crop Settings: Enables video cropping using the settings below. The crop option eliminates the portion of the video outside of the defined region.

X = Horizontal start position for the cropped region.
Y = Vertical start position for the cropped region.
W = Width for the cropped region.
H = Height for the cropped region.

Text Overlays: Enables text overlay using the settings below. Text Overlay inserts the defined text onto the video at the defined position.

Text box - Enter text to be inserted onto the video.
Text Overlay X = Horizontal start position for the location at which the text will appear.
Text Overlay Y = Vertical start position for the location at which the text will appear.
Font = Font for the inserted text.
Color = Color for the inserted text.
Font Size = Font size for the inserted text
